First Come, First Serve To Paying For A Feature
Maybe she’s intimidating, because the female rapper Aynjewl Faycc is too attractive to pay for verses! However, for the first time in her career she has paid for features to complete the track “I Gutta, You Wanna”. Faycc states, “It’s not like this song is about goblins or saving the planet, I can’t believe I literally had to pay someone to talk nasty love sh** on my track.”
Due to the nature of Faycc’s releases, it is her top priority to stay consistent and meet the production schedule she has planned for herself. With the type of drive this femcee brings, she executes almost any avenue to complete her desired goal. “I Gutta, You Wanna” even has two versions because of the contrast she was looking for between the two voices.
It took two-three days of work to figure out how to make the feature with D-Werd of L.O.E. sound appropriate her ear. She tried screwing Werd’s voice but that took away from its crisp quality. Werd’s performance and recordings were on point, but something else needed to change. Within trying to speed up her vocals, she found the key to hit and re-recorded!
Werd was actually the first feature she has ever paid for because of his music track record and professionalism. Due to the time it took for Faycc to blend her Werd feature, she paid Yung Sush-Hibachi for a feature due to ties with an artist G.o aka Game Over who did a collaboration she really enjoyed with Styles P called “Body Bags”. Yung Sush has a deep voice that brought easy contrast with Faycc’s original performance.
By paying for features, it has opened opportunities for Faycc. Not only can she pay for features with artists who have built momentum, she can begin to value her talent as well. With any artist, it can be difficult to ask others to pay for something so enjoyable to complete— especially with music. Her idea was to do features with anyone who wanted them (for free) because of the free promotion that comes with it. Contrarily, this process has changed her outlook— the money made can invest in “proper” promotion.
